Addicted to Art

I am from Finland, but now I belong also to California, since I have been living here already for six years. When I was a child, we picked blueberries and camped in the wilderness. I also loved to draw, especially flowers and princesses. As a teenager, I spent most of my free time cross country skiing and orienteering; running or skiing in the forest with a map and compass finding points.

I love to work at my Studio at Art Bias in San Carlos, CA. I like bathing in a sauna and swimming in a lake. Sometimes I also hike, knit and crochet. If I have coffee and sparkling water available, I can do anything. I have always been interested in clothing and interior design. Many of my clothes and furniture are bought second hand, thrift shopping is ecological, entertaining, and good for your budget, too. My husband and three adult daughters are vegan and so am I. We built our house in Finland by hand.

I studied weaving and fabric design in Finland for three years. I took classes at College of San Mateo, including 60+ units of art, but also anthropology and sociology, through which I learned more about different cultures, equality, minorities, and diversities. I finished my art studies with an intensive 3 month study abroad program in Florence, Italy. I love to make art and I am addicted to it.
